The syllabus and pattern are similar for many examinations and recruitment tests viz. IBPS, Banks, Insurance (LIC, GIC), RBI, NABARD, SSC (CGL, CHSL), IB ACIO, UPSC (EPFO, Labour Officer) Exams. Preparing for each exam is cumbersome. A comprehensive strategy as specified in the following will work.
There are many changes in the recruitment of different agencies. The changes are started when the decision of Scrapping Interviews for lower level examinations was taken by the government. Hence Different agencies have been trying to find a stable scheme of examination. However, preparation is not going to change a lot.
First Step: Identify the subjects
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Logical Reasoning
- Data Analysis & Interpretation
- General Studies
- Banking and Finances Awareness
- Computer Awareness
- English Language (Objective & Descriptive – Essay, Letter writing etc.)
Second Step: Preparation as a whole
Next step is to prepare all the subjects identified. The immediate concern here is to become acquainted with all the subjects. It may take 3 months or 6 months or even 1 year based on your capacity and capability. But don’t worry. Once you are through with the subjects, clearing the examination is a simple process.
Third Step: Examination Specific
A lot many examinations prescribe to the subjects mentioned above. However, a specific exam may omit one section or add another. For Instance, UPSC EPFO examination adds labour laws while others don’t.
You can’t prepare for IBPS or Bank exams only. The success rate is going to be minimal in such cases. Since the syllabus and pattern are almost similar for many examinations, a comprehensive preparation strategy is better to crack the job.
